Later in the day felt a cold coming on, and at dinner had to leave early as I couldn’t sit or eat any longer. To bed and flaked out. It's not fun being sick when you're on holiday.

Saturday 19 June

Spent a lot of today in bed, or on the bed sleeping, or occasionally reading. Head feels dreadful – headache, cough, tickly throat, runny nose – just delightful!

For dinner went with Mum to the Horizon Court (buffet meal) but I wasn’t really up to much.

After that we listened for a while to the extremely mediocre music in the atrium – Alan and Allanah – and a kind of trivial pursuit quiz. All very forgettable. But maybe I'm just extra-jaded because of being ill … maybe.
